Meet Darren Albers
My wife and I have called Owatonna home for 19 years. Our daughter is entering seventh grade at OMS and is active in soccer and dance. Over the years, we’ve also welcomed three exchange students into our home. They’ve become part of our family and have taught us to appreciate the different experiences and perspectives that make our community special.
Lincoln PTO
For six years, I helped support Lincoln school programs and events, including coordinating and managing the Scholastic Book Fair. I managed funds, worked with families and students, and collaborated with teachers, school staff, and vendors.
2024 Boundaries Input Team
I listened to different proposals, discussed the pros and cons, shared constructive feedback, and worked with community members to find the best possible outcomes.
Exchange Student Host
Hosting exchange students has strengthened our family and given me a greater appreciation for different cultures, experiences, and perspectives. It has also taught me the value of listening, understanding, and finding common ground.
19 years at Federated Insurance
I’ve held a variety of leadership roles that have taught me to listen carefully, communicate clearly, consider different perspectives, and turn conversations into action.
Why I'm running
I believe our schools are strongest when we listen to our community, lead with purpose, and remain focused on serving students, families, and educators.
